It’s up and running

I’ve got my site published yeah! It was hard work getting it there and now I’ve spent nearly all day promoting it. I know I can’t just sit back and wait for the orders but I really hope I get an order soon, it would be so exciting.

Anyway, here is my shop http://www.sweetbabylula.co.uk

I’m getting lots of feedback, all positive so far.

It’s kind of scary because I really don’t know if it’s going to work, but it’s also exciting. I’ve got everything crossed that it does work and of course I’m willing to work at promotion.

So far I’ve submitted the URL to many search engines. I know from experience it’s best to do this manually, but it’s so time consuming. And it can take a while before it’s actually shown.

I’ve set up a Twitter account. Although I dislike Twitter advertising you have to admit it’s a good way to reach an audience. So I’m starting slowly with this one, building up a base of suitable followers and keeping my tweets looking like they come from a real person, which of course they do, just one that needs to be noticed. I most certainly don’t want to shove my site down anyone’s throat, but hopefully I can get some interest without being pushy.

I’ve added my link to my Facebook account. I’ve had the account for a while so I’m established there with lots of friends who will give me feedback and possible an order or two. I will have to add my link regularly and keep my fingers crossed.

I’ve added my site to the business sector on Babycentre. There are so many potential customers on Babycentre but also strict rules about what you can post. I’m currently a very active member but I can’t post to my friends. I can, however, privately ask one of my friends to post my link for me, which I have done.

I already have a google adwords account but it’s not been very successful for me in the past, so I might give that one plenty of thought before I start throwing more money at it.

I might put some things on Ebay. I’ll have to think hard on this one. I believe my products won’t do very well in the Ebay enviroment, but it’s a good way to get my site noticed. so it might be worth the investment.

I’ve got plenty more to try before I start ploughing money into advertising, which is something I know I will have to do in the future, how soon in the future depends on how well I do in the meantime.
